Granada School provides boarding for Junior and Senior School girls (Grades 7–12) in a safe, structured and caring environment designed for focused learning and personal growth. It is built around one idea: a girl does her best learning when she feels at home.
1.A Home Within the Campus
Our purpose-built boarding houses at Vipingo sit within the campus, a short walk from classrooms, labs and playing fields, so the school day flows naturally into the evening.
Every boarder belongs to one of our four houses: Aksum, Zeila, Timbuktu and Gede, and her house is her family at school. Each has its own personality, but all share the same home-from-home spirit. A resident Housemistress leads each house, supported by a pastoral team who know every girl by name, notice when something is off, and celebrate when something goes right. Older girls mentor younger ones, and house competitions, from sports day to the arts, give everyone a reason to cheer.
Meals in Córdoba Hall bring girls and resident staff together, not just to eat, but to talk, connect and look out for one another. It is in these everyday moments that real pastoral care happens.

Boarders follow a well-planned routine that blends lessons, sport and recreation with supervised evening prep. Evenings leave time for music practice, clubs, reading or a game of netball under the lights, followed by the calm of the house before bed. Weekends bring house activities, cultural events, trips along the Kilifi coast, and the simple rest a busy week needs.
3.Every Girl Known
We see every girl as an individual. Our job is to know her well: to understand what motivates her, support her when she needs it, and celebrate her as she grows. Our partnership with families is at the heart of this, and we take pride in working together to ensure each girl is happy, healthy and flourishing.
Boarding life teaches our girls more than they realise: independence, resilience, and the quiet confidence to take responsibility for themselves and others. By the time they reach Grade 12, they are more than ready for what lies ahead. And we are proud of the young ladies they become.
